For cabinets, I recommend working with Rick Kalem at Rex Cabinets. He makes all his own beautiful, custom cabinets in his shops which is right next to his showroom. Since we didn’t have an architect or designer, we worked with Rick on every detail of our kitchen design. We appreciated his ideas and flexibility when he helped us design a kitchen (with a desk area, mudroom, bar area) which uniquely fit the way we live. He is great to work with and his lead-times and estimate were reasonable. After seeing our kitchen, our neighbor started working with him and is sending her friend there as well.

Well, I’m getting custom size cabinets, hand made locally in this shop, they’ll be ready in 2 weeks to install. They cost 30 percent less than Home Depot! Rick Kalem is fast, efficient, provided many upgrades at no charge, within budget! I had 3 bids and his was the most comprehensive and complete bid! No hidden charges!!! I’m real happy with my order!
Nice showroom, you can see the whole process, from an idea to wood building, and finished product under the same roof!!! Much better than Home Cheapo cabinets!!!!

I was VERY impressed with the work your guys (Salvador and Eber [please correct my spelling?]) did yesterday. Not only were they remarkably quiet, which is never easy for a prolonged period, they left the place as neat as a pin. The quality of their work is stellar. Every detail seen to. The shelves themselves take up a minimum of room and are EXACTLY what I wanted. Discreet, perfectly sized for VCR tapes, they make the best use of the space. I wanted white, I got white. Rick in his wisdom even thought to leave space underneath for vacuuming. He said the shelves would appear to blend into the wall, and they do, miraculously!
I can’t believe I waited so long to have that done; just didn’t know it COULD be done! Now I can’t wait to begin filling them up with the thousands of tapes I have. In no particular order.
